Pictures

Well, here you go! The first look at Pumpkin in full-on black and white glory. I have got to say that this was the best part of this experience, with the exception of the very first part (wink, wink).
To the right, you have her head on the right and her arm tucked behind her head. That's her elbow in the center and her belly above it.

Next we have a picture of her right foot and leg up to her knee. Just below that you can see her left knee with her leg going off behind her right.

This, by far, is the coolest picture. Here you can see her skull and brain cavity (she's gonna be smart) on the right looking down (left) at her belly. You can see her spine from right to left heading upward. It doesn't look very comfortable in there.

And finally we have the butt shot. Pumpkin is definitely shy, and she wouldn't open her legs for us to see (which makes Daddy proud). Finally, though, she opened up so we could tell what was there. This being the forum for me to spread the sizable education that I am receiving to those who have not already gone through this, I'll tell you how one can tell as best as I know. You ask a doctor or trained technician. It has something to do with the three lines at the arrow (it just looks like a sideways "Y" here) that look something like this ( -= ). That apparently means "girl" in the ultrasound language.

Well, there you have it. Check back in later to see more ultrasound pictures. I'm asking Santa for an ultrasound machine for Christmas. I wrote to him that I've been a good boy all year...hopefully he agrees. Otherwise, I'll have to fashion some kind of "silhouette machine" and shine a bright light through Cathy with photographic film on the other side. Actually that would probably be more effective with gamma or x-rays. If only I could do it without hurting the baby or Cathy...I digress. Just check back.

Not to freak you out or anything, but John's sister's last pregnancy, the tech said without a doubt it was a boy.
